AccessibleCoolDirectIntenseAl is an amazing coach. He is very approachable and honest, but you must take the initiative to reach out to him for feedback. He makes good jokes, keeps training fun and interesting, and is extremely knowledgeable about the sport of rowing.

AccessibleCoolDirectIntenseAwesome to work with and always available to chat to. He gave a good insight into rowing and no rowing related matters. Al is easy going and easy to get along with, which makes him easy to talk to.

Overall1.0Caring2.0Motivational1.0Knowledgeable2.0Honest1.0Al was a very hands off coach and not a great confidant. I found working with him to be extremely difficult. He seems to be going through the motions of what he knows to be successful for most athletes without considering that there and many different approaches that should be taken on such a large team.

AccessibleCoolDirectIntenseOh Al, I hope you find this someday and laugh. I don't know if you were popular in high school. I get the feeling you were a little strange. I want you to know today, you win every popularity contest in my book. To girls looking to row at Cal, it will be the best decision you ever make.
