All hat for sure lol the guy never takes his off. Kinda insane to pretend he didn’t get results tho, I didn’t run the times I wanted but our team won a crazy amount of conference titles and had ppl making ncaas every szn. Now we suck again :’) new guy is chill tho ig. Stop the cap making up terrible stuff ab Sweeney, it’s a bad look to still be trying to ruin someone’s reputation 2 years after he left for another job when we know u just got personal issues and wanna take it out on others.

All hat, no cattle. He is a used car salesman. He talks so much that he makes you think he knows what he is talking about, but it's all hot air. Plus all the inappropriateness with young athletes. He's a groomer.

Former coworker of his who spent years together. Never once had any issues (except when he’d push for more scholarship / travel money for distance lol). Team loved him (all event groups really) and was sad when he left.

If people want to hear from any of us who actually ran for Sweeny then honestly feel free to reach out to someone directly bc these posts are crazy. Anyone can tell you he has a heart of gold and had a great impact on us as runners and ppl. It’s embarassing that someone would use their personal issues to make a bunch of posts attacking someone’s reputation. We all know who you are btw and hope your consciense keeps you up.

Hi everyone, all of the comments that are positive clearly don’t know the truth. I also used to think he was a good guy who meant well but there are too many facts that prove otherwise. There should have been an ncaa-wide investigation after he was fired from Lamar. Just ask his ex-wife

The most recent post is an obvious personal attack against Sweeney to smear his image and discredit the outpouring of support for him after discovering this site, much like the initial posts from back in the fall. In fact, all of those crude and profane "reviews" with horrible accusations were made well after he made his decision to relocate closer to his family, so I'm not even sure why this page is still up. It's truly awful continuing to spread such gross things and making recklessly false statements about his personal life. He's not even coaching at all, he's literally working at a wildlife sanctuary helping rescue animals and this is what you're spending your time and energy on. Just shameful behavior, and I assume this site will clean things up and not allow this continued harassment.

The posts since April 2026 are obvious fakes. This guy is a manipulative scumbag who should not be coaching, especially females. Guaranteed that he has nobody from Lamar's staff is listed as a reference. This guy should not be allowed near female athletes ever again. Consider this a warning.

Can’t believe some of the nonsense people say, this is a great dude that truly cares and treated everyone kindly. My running career wasn’t perfect but I wouldn’t have it any other way because it gave me the best memories. Sweeney was a big reason for that and nobody ever had a negative thing to say in all his years here. Very grateful we still keep in touch!

Sweendog was the best, only complaint is he was too nice on us sometimes when really we needed someone to just tell us how it is or to put his foot down with certain people lol. But that’s also why everyone loved him so much, since you knew he actually cared about your well being and not just running.

I couldn’t have asked for a better coach, because even aside from running I don’t know anyone else who spends more energy on supporting and encouraging others and celebrating their achievements. He continues to be a source of kindness and positivity for myself but also for really anyone who knows him!

Everyone got a lot faster and the team had a lot of success, but he also reminded everyone it’s just running fast in circles and winning didn’t matter if we weren’t having fun. Every time we went to meets all the coaches on other teams were always going up talking to him, it’s like he never met someone who wasn’t his friend lol. But he talked to everybody one at a time after each race and made everyone feel important, and never made it about him bc he would constantly tell us it’s our team and to take ownership of it, he’s just one person. I’m glad he talked me out of quitting!!

I was lucky enough to have Sweeney as my counselor at running camp in 2019 and was bummed he stopped working any more camps after covid canceled it in 2020. That was the highlight of every year! He gave a lot of wisdom in the education classes, especially when it came to mentally handling injuries and dealing with race day stresses. The best part was when he'd talk about it not mattering how fast or slow you were, the sport is just about becoming the best version of ourselves and not to compare to others. That really stuck with me and even when I went to college and reached out for advice he always helped. I ended up inspired to get into coaching too after college and applied for a graduate assistant job, he called the head coach and helped me get it!

I'm grateful the sport brought Coach into my life, as he's continued to support me through challenges I've faced post-college, including the loss of one of my parents as well as physical injuries and mental health struggles. He continues to have a positive impact on my life, and I know he does the same for many others who competed for him.

Has had $exual intercourse with his current athlete at the time. Admitted to liking her based on her roster photo from high school before she even came onto the team. Cheated on his wife to be with her. Was also $exually texting a high schooler before this. Also has taken $exual videos and images and sent them to athletes.
