It is important to note that Coach Shenk works most closely with the distance runners. That being said as a head coach he has done a great job at bringing in other coaches that are really knowledgeable in other disciplines. Also need to give a shout out to the Assistant Coach, Coach Hartzler.

He is very knowledgeable about the sport and wants every athlete to be successful regardless of talent level. If you put in the time and effort you will show improvement. If you reach out to him he will explain any decision he made to you and is very dedicated.

Although his tactics seems old school, it's still a training regiment that was made for runners who ran extremely fast times back in the day. He is caring about our improvement and pushes us to improve immensely. One thing he can do better is not put up with athletes complaining or lying to him about various things. He should be stricter on that.

He's really sweet and means well but his coaching techniques are very old school which will sometimes put some athletes at a disadvantage. While his tactics may work well for some, they can Be disadvantageous to others which is frustrating sometimes. He has so much passion for the sport and his athletes however, and wants to see you succeed!

Has a strong passion for the sport, however, lacks any motivational aspects in coaching style. Often times "old-school" and inflexible but wants to see his athletes improve.

Means well and is very passionate about the sport, but isn't very direct when speaking with athletes and is hard to communicate with.
