Worst experience. I do not recommend playing at slu until this coach retires.

Lots of double standards. You will either be a favorite or you will need lots of support.

I loved Wellsy and the entire coaching staff. He cares about us outside of the rink just as much as on the ice. He understands SLU culture and has a ton of pride for the program. He also let us be college students and not just hockey players which I find important for the overall college experience

Wellsy has meant a lot to me and is an incredible coach. He believes in his athletes and gives chances to players that wouldn’t be given them elsewhere. He lives and breathes St. Lawrence hockey and is passionate about his athletes.

Coach wells is very extreme when it comes to hockey. He holds double standards with his players and does not care about your overall well being. He needs to take some classes on mental health training and how to deal with athletes that have issues with their mental health.

I've never had a coach with more energy and enthusiasm each and every day, which illuminates throughout the entire team. He's very approachable and easy to talk to about absolutely any topic. His passion for the game and his desire to help each player remains very apparent in how he carries himself and coaches.

Truly a spectacular coach. Coach Wells know so much about the game of hockey and teaches us with passion. You can tell the love he has for it just with his interesting practices and also making it very exciting. Every time I step on the ice, he makes sure we come out with something new that we learned. He has definitely pushed me to be the best hockey player I can be and beyond.

He's a great coach with a desire to win and a passion for the game. He's willing to take time out of his day to help you improve your game. He also went to St. Lawrence and played on the Men's team so he understands the academic side and what is expected of student athletes.

The entire St. Lawrence Women's Ice Hockey coaching staff is an extremely caring, hard-working team. They are incredibly understanding and supportive of academic interests and commitments, and provide a strong emphasis on the 'student' part of being a student-athlete.

Chris Wells is an outstanding coach to play under. He cares about his players` well-being and understands commitments that are outside of hockey (school, family, social life, etc.) A very energetic and enthusiastic coach who looks not only for skill, but character development as well. As any coach does, Chris occasionally will play favorites but when things are tight during the end of the season and playoff stretch, he knows which players can and will do what it takes to win.
