Too old, needs to retire. Stuck on his 2001-2002 team that made it to NCAA's. Doesn't believe in positive re-enforcement, only negative--direct quote from him. Seriously injures his athletes and is going senile. Emotionally berates his athletes on a daily basis. 10/10 would not recommend. Also, doesn't take recruits so don't bother.

Coach Tucci seems to be stuck in an old timed D1 program and doesn't adapt to the changing sport or team. He lacks the compassion to be a strong motivator and while lacking the relate-ability to actually accommodate anyone who wants to have any kind of life socially and academically outside of crew.

Thinks extremely highly of himself when in reality has done little to improve individual or group performance on the team. Will defend every one of his tactics to the death even when told directly that they are ineffective. Good luck trying to remain on the team with an injury or trying to quit: he will cast you completely aside.

Doesn't coach well. He sits in a launch from far away from our boat and just watches with no comments. When he wants to tell us something he yells and claps and it is not enjoyable. He is not personable and he does not try to have a relationship with his rowers. He can be rude and puts people down.

He doesn't care about his female athletes. He puts practice before academics. He claps at us to get our attention, like dogs. Rude and disrespectful to our coxswain. Doesn't coach on the water, drives the launch as far away from the boat as possible and only yells at the coxswain when he wants something. Never gives the rowers advice or any coachin

Makes a lot of demeaning comments towards athletes and refuses to change his coaching techniques. Rowing as a sport has changed a lot over the years but he still coaches like it's 1980. Takes away opportunities for growth on the team and has effectively hindered the team dynamic. Favors the men over the women. Also where's the new boathouse?

He is very sarcastic, this means he often comes across a bit harsh. He cares deeply about all the athletes however tends to show his frustrations about athletes with chronic injuries. He does tend to play favorites to those athletes that he feels are more into the sport, whether or not it is true. His practices can be incredibly frustrating, if you cannot handle being yelled at for 2 hours straight, then this is not the coach for you, but it will make you better.
