Poor Communication

There is an overall good team culture but coaches do not care about anyone unless they are at the top scoring points. They recruit a big group to give you an opportunity and if you struggle at all they stop mentoring you. The coaches are awkward and do not give actionable feedback (ex. Telling me the reason I got sick was because I did not work hard enough). Coach Breznau specifically was poor with communication. I was in therapy and on medication during my time on the team to deal with her borderline emotional abuse and manipulation. However, she does a decent job fighting eating disorder culture and does not promote hyper competition between teammates. Just wanted to share since she keeps winning Big 10 Coach of the Year. She ruined my love of the sport, so I cannot recommend her.

Coach Breznau was cruel, disrespectful, & unprofessional. She also emotionally abusive. My daughter’s experience with this coach was appalling.
