Coach McCall is the best coach I have ever had. I have never had someone believe and buy into me like she has. She cares about all her players as people first and athletes second. Obviously her job is to win, so she will play her best 9 and she is honest about that and that you need to prove it at practice or in fall/preseason if you want to play. She encourages players that if they have any questions on what their current role is on the team and if they aren’t satisfied with it, how they can change that, to go talk to her and have a conversation. Other than softball, she always asks how players are doing in their personal life with family, school, and their social life. She wants the best for her players and preaches the importance of developing strong young women. Fantastic coach and person 10/10 recommend.

I had a lot of respect for you and your program but after what I’ve witnessed with one of your closest friends, Ronda Varnesdeel, your connection with her and what Davenport is all about, I absolutely no longer have any respect for you or your program. Absolutely sickening and disturbing to have a strong association with such a corrupt individual and institution.

Her success was built not on merit or respect for the game, but on bending the rules whenever possible. Unfortunately, she operated under the protection of a close friend in leadership, who turned a blind eye to misconduct and enabled behavior that compromised the values the program should stand for. This lack of accountability fostered a toxic environment where favoritism and manipulation were rewarded over hard work and fairness. For those seeking a coach who upholds honesty, transparency, and respect for athletes, this is not someone who should be held up as a model of leadership

There has been a ton of CMU players in the portal the past few years. She not only plays favorites but she plays mind games. Turns out she can’t coach a highly rated recruiting class very well either. Terrible decision making and major lacking of softball IQ at the D1 level. Other than that she recruits like she’s still at the NAIA level. It’s harder to win when you can’t cheat I guess. The best player on the team just transferred out and the best coach on the team just left. Safe to say she hasn’t lived up to the hype in a mediocre conference.

Embarrassing coach, she literally put my life on display in front of all my friends and peers and humiliated me. Does not care about mental health at all. I literally had to go to therapy after being humiliated.

I love coach McCall as a coach because she really values every single one of her players and does her best to develop us not only on the field but prepares us to become better women overall. She is very honest, which is what you need in a coach, even in tough situations but in the end we always know what she wants from us. She really emphasizes building up our team culture every year and believes that this is a very important aspect of growing as a team as a whole. I am so thankful that she is my coach.
