Melissa was fantastic to work with! She was only with the team as a volunteer but still put in 40+ hours a week between practice and traveling with the team, on top of a full time job. She cared DEEPLY about the success of her athletes both on and off the piste, and never once let us down. Her feedback was always direct and applicable. Unwaveringly positive at all times. She had a way about her that just made you want to do your best, and she never asked for more or less than that. When you go to a high performance university, this is exactly the kind of coach you want. She never forced her style or way of fencing onto the squad, she worked with them to see what they did, and then adapted her coaching style to match the individual. I wish every coach I had was like her.
