When visiting Maryland, what stuck out the most to me was their team culture. All the coaches and teammates are very supportive of each other and want to push each player to do their best on and off the field.

Missy has a gift when it comes to coaching field hockey, but also being an incredible female leader and mentor. Playing for her at UMD was a privilege, since I not only grew my game but was allowed to become the woman I am today! I owe so much to Missy and am so so thankful to know to this day that she always has her past & present players backs!

Missy encourages, motivates, challenges and expects the best out of her players. She roots for them during their experience at UMD and afterwards. I couldn't be more proud for being involved with this program and history. She is a legend.

Missy Meharg is a Hall of Fame, National Championship coach and former Olympian. I chose to go to the University of Maryland to play field hockey because she treats the team like family. There was no hierarchy and I still keep in good touch with her. I was lucky to be a part of the team and be coached by her.
