As a coach, I always look out for the best interest in players that have played for me, and I would never send a player to play for anyone if they weren't good people, knowledgeable coaches, and cared for their players. Unfortunately, the parents are typically the blame in these cases because their son, or daughter, aren't getting the minutes they feel they deserve. Instead of encouraging their child to work harder and understand nothing is given to you, preparing them for life in the real world, they want to coddle them. Carias is an excellent person, a great coach, and very personable that's alway been transparent with me in recruiting players I have recommended. Some players I referred were recruited by Carias, and some were not, which I respect due to his transparency and honesty with those players and their parents I have been involved with. This is not only in recruiting my players, this is also once my players have played for him as I always maintain a relationship with my players after they've moved on to their next chapter. So I would highly doubt these negative comments are from a lot of players, including former, but more from 2 or 3 bad eggs who didn't get what they want or the minutes they "think" they deserve. His resume, and I'm sure former players who have played for him would agree with my statements.

He shouldn’t even have a job. The school needs to find a replacement for him ASAP. He has no knowledge on soccer and his only history is playing for queens. He doesn’t deserve to make even a third of the money he makes. The assistant coaches know more than him about soccer. He is a narcissist who can’t accept when he’s wrong. There is seriously something wrong with him. He gives up on his players, he doesn’t support them, doesn’t teach them, crushes their love for their game, making them question their career choice even coming to play at this school. There’s a reason there’s never a class that genuinely stays with him. There are transfers each season because of him and this program. It’s absurd nothing has been done about him. He even accepts bribes from a parent for his son to play, when other players DESERVE to play. I hope the players decide to boycott him and this program that is robbing and failing them in DAYLIGHT.

I couldn’t find 5tag words to describe the coach. Never knew a coach that within a couple weeks time will alienate you from being apart of the team and destroys your love of the game.

I’ve never been apart of a team were the coach creates some much distrust and lack of loyalty. It seems the athletic department doesn’t listen and is happy with mediocrity. Lacks loyalty to his players he rights them off never coaches up but only coaches out

Its hard to score him when you don't believe he rates even a 1. Not a players coach you go to the school (which he school is good by the way) but you go there to enjoy and play the game you love and find yourself treated unfairly and turning on the game. for the student athlete you've run up a tremendous amount of debt. you know going in the cost of an education there but at least enjoy the game you can't get that promise under the current coach. They will always be a sub 500 team with him and you the school will lack that student athlete that will give back to the university because very rarely will a full class of incoming players stay. I am shocked the administration hasn't seen this by now.

hard to trust coach comes across as though he is supportive but he loses his luster after a few weeks on campus. he seems to tag you early on not making the effort to coach and support. my choice to go to queens was the family message, location and opportunity the campus provided. family went out the window pretty soon..my decision cost my family alot of money being a private school.so disappointed!

if you're reading this as a potential future player look for any other opportunities you may have rather than play under oliver. lacks loyalty to his players. demeanor them in front of teammates. fails to make adjustments during the game. if you are parent don't put your child through the agony of playing with him. he tends to lead athletes on and heavily plays favorites to certain players. very disappointing.

as a parent you trust the coach that sales family is true to their word, and that they buy into your child and support them. this isn't the case at queens. he doesn't work to support the student athletes he gives up on them quickly, especially freshman. he forms an option early on and gives up on them. as a parent I couldn't have been more disappointed. now days you can't share your feelings with administration or the coach they label you as that parent that is too involved and complains. I wanted my kid to be coached, I'm ok with tough coaching but don't quit on them, tell them you no longer want them around when they showed up for every practice and worked hard on the field when they were allowed to get on the pitch. a great school ,but needs a.better ambassador for soccer

University leaders need to pay attention to players that have left or he has ask to leave over past couple years. he never bought in to his players and commitment to them. Ruined my soccer career... remember people don't forget how you make them feel. it's really hard for me because I'm not a negative person but he stole my love for the game. promised alot never delivered. talked family but never showed that gives up on his players he doesnt seem to believe in a 4 year player right now. alot of turnover. Worst coach I ever had. Has no clue of the game. Lies to players. Only plays his starters all season and leaves all others in bench with no chance to earn time. Basically, the internationals play. Avoids you when you try to talk to him. Not straightforward. Senior year and feel he hasn't taught me a single thing. Wish I would accepted other offer.
