DirectIntenseAs a sprinter, I've had less interactions with Ray than many of the distance/cross country people have. I think it's fairly odd how separate he seems from the sprinters (except our national qualifiers.) He was very disconnected in the recruiting process and was similarly disconnected throughout my experience on the team.

DirectIntenseRay is very intense and clearly an effective coach but he really chooses favorites and can create an unhealthy environment in the way he has teammates report to him about each other. That said, he hasn't affected me much because I'm not a distance runner. The coaches for all other events have all been amazing though.

CoolIntenseRay is not the kind of coach that I expected from Oberlin. He is definitely knowledgable but he treats people very differently so that only some team members are able to benefit from his leadership. I've never felt like we've had any real connection. He can be way too intense sometimes. He does not foster a happy team environment.

AccessibleCoolDirectIntenseRay is an extremely intelligent and honest man. He is very understanding and does what he can to make sure you are getting what you need from him as a coach. He can certainly be intense but only if you want him to be/if he thinks you will thrive from it. He also is a very good life coach and has given me some phenomenological advice. Ray is Amazing
