KnowledgeableDisorganizedOld School MentalityPoor CommunicationRespectful To PlayersInconsistent during the recruiting process and was not accessible. Didn't seem to have deep relationships with all of her players and her program as a whole. Had good knowledge of the game.

DirectIntensePlays HARD into favorites and only utilizes those key players. Does not develop players to their full potential. Cares more about the future of field hockey than helping to the skills or motivation needed to win

AccessibleCoolDirectIntenseShellie is a great coach who truly cares about her players. She has always pushed me to be the best player/person on and off the field. She has build an incredible program at Cal that is build on trust and integrity, which is exactly what she expects from players.

AccessibleIntenseShellie is a very passionate coach; however her theories and knowledge of the game are outdated. Strong players hockey skills become stagnant instead of improved, while players recruited to be "developed" are essentially "practice" players and not a large focus. Her focus is on the bigger picture instead of in the moment, and she very much so plays favorites and focuses strategies around those players. She is harsh, but only because she cares. Her criticism is also not very constructive.
