Perks was the best coach i have ever had throughout my entire hockey career. He cares so much about all his players and his coaching staff, and dedicates all his time to the team. He has so much hockey knowledge and was able to teach me so much on the ice, and is always there for his players no matter what.

Perks, gave me a chance to play college hockey, even tho my time was short he helped me become a better player and person on and off the ice. He motivated me and was extremely honest with me of what I need to improve on the ice, he never hesitated to be there for a player no matter what they might need. 10/10 coach would do it all over again

Coach Zach Perkins is an incredibly knowledgeable collegiate coach that loves what he does and it shows. He has built an amazing program at Anna Maria after years of working his way up the ranks and building his experience on both the men’s and women’s side of college hockey. Zach respects his players and always has an open door to listen to their concerns. He takes feedback seriously and makes adjustments based on that feedback, while still maintaining a strong presence as a head coach. Zach has had the most wins in program history each of the last few years and has the career record for wins. The program is more competitive every year and he has committed to building the program. His intelligence and professionalism shine through when you look at his success. Last year his penalty kill was best in the country. He has extensive knowledge in all areas of the game including goaltending.

As a parent, I would never question whether or not Coach Sasso cared about the kids. That being said, it was not apparent that player development was at the forefront of the program. Often times practices were at times that only one Caoch was available, therefore, not a lot of instruction was given throughout the year. Additionally, it did not seem like the facilities that the school has in place for the program were utilized properly to help the girls continue to improve and work on their skills. Wins and losses aside, it should be expected that the coaching and instruction would be at a higher level than what the girls received in high school.
