    Be warned

Nate was the most uncompassionate, unwilling, difficult person I've ever dealt with. He does not believe in injury, recovery, or training you based on specialty. Every athlete no matter what event they swam, had the same practice. No groups. On multiple occasions he has said that he doesn't like coaching girls (an only women's team). Our assistant coach as well as Nate told the sports psychologist that they had no interest in fostering a close relationship with their athletes. He never accepted feedback or conversation about training plans, it is his way or the highway. He seems very charismatic but be warned he is manipulative and mean.

Only coaches the hammer/ weight squad with very little time or energy put into any other event. He doesn’t come to practice and has actively coached me twice this year, one of which he just said “good job” and walked away. He spends a lot of time on his phone not even paying attention to people throwing and refuses to take us to bigger meets because he “doesn’t like travelling”. Takes out unavoidable schedule conflicts on the athletes and makes no effort to fix or work around these.

It’s a blessing she is not coaching. The way she treats young athletes is deplorable

I witnessed and personally experienced mental and emotional abuse from her. She is not who she appears to be publicly. If you’re a star player and make her look good then she leaves you alone, if not then you’re her whipping post and she will treat you like you’re disposable garbage.
