There are some comments on here that seem more like personal attacks. From what I have heard for two seasons, good coach just a volunteer so cant be there every day, but understandable as she has a family. Seems passionate about the sport and the teams success.

Felt pressured not to stand up for her by horrible teams at old program. She did what she could against a toxic clique of girls. They quit the team so we didn’t have enough to play and the school was closing so there was nothing we could do. Any other coach would have turned down that team. Both our coaches are in better places at the D1 level now and seem happy, she was/is a great person and I appreciate the opportunity she gave me even though I didn’t get to play. She still supported me for my future. Everyone that did want to keep playing went to more competitive schools.

Coach Mettler has been so supportive throughout my experience. I know the school she was at before she stayed when she knew the program was ending due to a closure. She absolutely cares about us and supported us through a time with a really bad coach. She stayed an advocated for us to get a great one even though she is working as a volunteer. She went above and beyond. She is a great person and a great coach, just competitive and pushes us to our full potential. She is probably better suited as a Division I coach than in the situation she was in before. She is a very strong person and has always been beneficial when she is present.

I was one of the first recruits at YSU and also one of the first to hit the portal and transfer out my Sophomore year. Clarkson and I were very close my first year and I thought I was so lucky to have an assistant coach that actually cared about me and my personal/athletic development. Boy was I wrong. Her and Walton would get minions to spy on me and what i was doing and report back to them. Then they would CALL MY MOTHER and yell at me with my mom on speaker phone. When the freshman came in my sophomore year, Clarkson began a relationship with one of them and everyone had proof of it. When i spoke up about it I was shamed in front of the whole team and they decided to have a team meeting just to discuss me and manipulate the players into turning against me. I even had to get two surgeries on my shins for overuse and constant running - She told me that it was shin splints and I should just put ice on it. This experience ruined me and I started abusing substances just to get through the day. Once I transferred I realized what a real Division I programs culture should look like and I’m so glad I made the decision. I needed to come on here and say my peace.
