I easily think that Hovis is one of the few coaches at Kansas who cares about athletes in a genuine way, including those who are not in her boat. Some others have a tendency to flat out ignore athletes who are not in their boat. I have never felt as if Hovis was talking down to me, ignoring me as an athlete on her team, or playing favorites. Unfortunately these things are problems at Kansas today. She isn’t everyone’s favorite, but most of us agree that she definitely cares about the athletes on the team and is interested in our actual wellbeing.
