Coach Hovis is one of the best coaches I have ever had in all of my years in sports. She is very passionate about supporting the well-being of her athletes. She understands all aspects of being in a sport and helps guide you through the years. She is very tough on you but in a good way and only wants to see you succeed. She has been one of the only coaches to develop my love for rowing and actually support me in the Kansas rowing program. No matter what she does not make you feel invisible and actually gives you corrections to make you better. She is one of the best coaches you will experience in the program and very easy to get along with if you do all the right things!
