Very difficult coach to communicate with and lacks personal connections and social skills to his players. Always puts winning/hockey over school and personal life (dying family members). Coaching style is extremely old school. Team culture extremely strict early curfew, not allowed to leave the hotel, no talking on bus rides, can’t talk to parents or friends after games, ”optional” practices that are actually mandatory, “chub club.” Lived in the past when Mercyhurst was extremely successful and expected the exact same results out of very different people at a very different time in women’s hockey. Coaching style is a tunnel vision mindset where there is little to no room for improvement as he doesn’t notice you though if you play, you will always play a lot.
