The first phone call after I was drafted was from Sheff. No one has ever pushed me as hard as he did. I took ground ball after ground ball, swing after swing. He taught me that the battle was between me and myself. I the first phone call I made after being called up to the big leagues was to my parents and the second was to Sheff.
