DisorganizedPoor Communication

Coach Theresa Scott, now of Southeast Missouri State (NCAA D1/OVC) is an insufferable human being and an ignorant track and field mind. Theresa continually fails to prepare athletes for high level competition, sprays pseudoscience, and refuses to take responsibility for poor program design. Coach Theresa tries to establish a militaristic culture, but clearly lacks the empathy and compassion necessary, this is evident in her treatment of her athletes, especially those suffering injury as result of poor programming. Theresa uses dirty recruiting tactics including false scholarship promises, and poaching of athletes from other teams. Theresa Scott is incredibly ignorant about the sport of track and field, and while she does have a background in personal training, lacks intermediate-level strength and conditioning knowledge. Frequently would “force” athletes to lift in inappropriate footwear, including squatting in thick-sole trainers. Theresa frequently overtrains, and seems to have no rhyme or reason for training purposes other than chasing exhaustion. Athletes wishing for more information on the purpose and methodology of a workout were redirected with statements disregarding responsibility, “I don’t know the science,” or typical coach banter. At least 3 athletes every year from 2022-2024 have suffered season-ending or season-altering injuries. Theresa has violated multiple NCAA rules regarding practice times and allowing athletes appropriate rest, including but not limited to; being over 20 hours of athletic hours a week, not taking NCAA-mandatory one day a week off, and more. This coach has ruined more careers than she’s ever made and “leads” from a place of selfishness, arrogance, and insecurity. Any sprinter, or hurdler joining this program is committing career suicide.
