Verbatim: “I’m concerned about who will be chosen for leadership next year”- Player in a team meeting “That’s a coaching decision”- Head Coach “Right”- Player in a team meeting “That’s an example, I understand your frustrations dude but I’m just gonna tell you exactly like it is, I love you to death, it’s MY freaking program and I’m not gonna be questioned on leadership. You may hear of other programs voting, all that does is turn into a damn popularity contest.”- Head Coach Maybe there’s a reason their teammates would not elect them? He will claim that this program belongs to the players, only when it is for his own benefit. The players will always be the people you see “selling” the program to recruits and their families, not the dude players will be supposedly “learning” from for their next four years. “His culture” is quite literally the worst there is out there in terms of team dynamic, but it’s his number one motto. Go figure.
