The least honest or thoughtful coach I have ever worked with. Repeatedly lies about program expectations to recruits, plays favorites, and does not value student-athlete mental health. Pablo talks a big game about academic achievement but does not work with students and staff to build a culture of academic accountability, preferring to hide behind mandated study hall hours instead of addressing root causes of struggle like learning disabilities or mental health. He will throw students and staff alike under the bus when he gets caught in a lie or mismanages a sensitive case. For someone who knows so much about swimming, it's ironic that the people around him always feel like they're drowning.
