Coach Alex Campione ruined the softball experience for many girls at Curry College, myself included. Her coaching style relies on fear, intimidation, and tearing players down instead of building them up. Over 20 girls have lost their love for the sport or left the program entirely because of the environment she created. What’s worse is that multiple players spoke up to the athletic department asking for help, yet nothing ever changed. The administration consistently chose to protect the coach instead of the athletes affected by her behavior. No player should leave a sport they once loved feeling defeated, anxious, and unheard.
