The truth is simple: Quinnipiac University softball team succeeded because of Xen Penny, the new hitting coach, and in spite of Hillary Smith. Her coaching style is toxic, hostile, and built on tearing players down. She creates chaos, not leadership. Any program that cares about its athletes should stay far away from her.
