An experienced rower and coach. He has seen and done it all. Remains calm, wants the best for the athletes, helps them to achieve. He knows this sport inside and out. He builds a competitive team from the middle of the country where there aren’t many rowers.

Steve has been at IU for 20 years, and he is so dedicated to the program and every athlete he coaches. He’s an Olympic rower and draws on his experience to present an understanding and motivating coaching style. He can definitely disengage with drama on the team, but you can count on him to be honest, caring, and encouraging.
